Possibly the weakest earthquake I’ve been in – shook the house for 5 seconds, and the only casualty was a lawn chair or a pot or something outside tipping over. Earlier today I was wondering if I’d be in an earthquake during the time I’m here…guess I got my answer!
Headed to downtown Christchurch today for a few hours of shopping and taking photos. I guess I’m still a bit more sick than I thought, all I wanted to do when I got home was take a nap!
Downtown was pretty nice, but it’s still very obviously recovering. Most of it is cordoned off and being reconstructed, but there were some things that had re-opened, like the shops in shipping containers. It was nice, but rather expensive! I had some tasty blueberry ice cream at one of the food carts and picked up an atlas for the road trip in two weeks.
Headed home and the trick or treaters tonight made dinner really exciting for the girls. I think they had too much candy at school today…Ayaka especially! 🙂 After dinner, I defeated Delta’s evil sudoku puzzle I received on the way to Sydney, and I learned about the intricacies of managing a smurf farm from Madoka. Not going to lie, I might get that app for my ipad.
Pics below…kind of hating on this gallery app and I might just make my own :d
